'The finest gypsy jazz in the Cotswolds'
By David Wood | 28th October 2021
Following their sold-out performance in the summer, Chapel Arts in Cheltenham is delighted to welcome back Swing from Paris on Wednesday, November 3, at 7.30pm.
Often described as 'the finest gypsy jazz in the Cotswolds', Swing from Paris bring you the sounds of a chic Parisian café and the French jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.
They've been seen on the BBC's Hairy Bikers, have appeared at many major jazz festivals including Cheltenham, Brecon and the Django Reinhardt Festival at Samois sur Seine, and have even performed at the opening of a service station for the pleasure of Prince Charles (it's a long story).
They present their own versions of tunes from across Europe and beyond featuring music by Edith Piaf, Gershwin, Charles Trenet, and the Hot Club de France.
Their latest album, Webster, received airplay on BBC radio. With violin, guitars and double bass, expect stylish gypsy jazz and vintage swing from 1930s Paris, right up to present day.
Tickets are £15 and available at https://www.thechapelarts.com/swing-from-paris-part-two/
