'Take a Breath of Fresh Air'

After huge success in 2022 and 2023, this year's From the Ground Up Festival of Sustainability returns in February.

The festival will take place on Saturday, February 3, again at Pip and Jim's (St Philip and St James Church, Leckhampton). This year's theme is "Take A Breath of Fresh Air."

Vanessa Angelo-Thomson, founder of From The Ground Up, said: "We are all too aware of the increasingly damaging impact of climate change - or perhaps more accurately, global over-heating. But did you know the world's leading environmental cause of premature death today is, in fact, air pollution?

"Of course, this pollution is largely the result of burning fossil fuels, inefficient energy use and intensive farming practices. So, most of the measures used to address climate change cause less air pollution and vice versa. In other words, a win-win.

"There are reasons to believe we can make a real difference, at home, in the community and far beyond. This free festival will inform, encourage and show visitors how."

There will be stands, talks and delicious food and coffee available. It will be engaging, interactive and fun for all with a special workshop for children aged 7-11.

Vanessa added: "Participants include local businesses large and small, universities, charities and not-for-profits and local government. They will all be sharing their stories on how they - and you - can promote cleaner air and lower carbon."

The festival is delighted that Cleevely Electric Vehicles has once again chosen to sponsor the festival.

The event starts at 10am. Entry is free but booking is strongly recommended for the talks as these quickly fill up.
