Stroll along the canal side on Bank Holiday Monday
By David Wood | 25th May 2021
With the weather set to improve for the Bank Holiday, the Cotswold Canals Trust is inviting people to take part in a canalside walk at Stonehouse.
Gather at the Stonehouse Court Hotel and join a guided walk along the canal to Ryeford Lock and back on Bank Holiday Monday (May 31) from 10am to 12pm.
During the walk you can learn about the history of the canal and its restoration that started in the 1970s.
You will hear of the huge efforts that are taking place during the next stage of the restoration Phase 1B Stonehouse to Saul Junction that has recently commenced.
After the walk spend time in the gardens of Stonehouse Court Hotel where you can find out further information such as membership and volunteering or maybe book a canal boat trip to experience the canal corridor from the water.
Walking time is for approximately 90 minutes along the tow path (bring your wellies). Cost is £5 per person.
Parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis in the hotel car park. There is plenty of additional parking on Church Lane.
