Spooktacular Halloween at Berkeley Castle

What better place to mark Halloween than at 12th century Berkeley Castle with its fascinating history and even a dungeon?

This October half-term, Past-Times Living History return with some spooky shenanigans to keep your little horrors happy.

There will be terrible tales, gruesome gags, scary stories, and lots more. Join in for some fiendish family fun that's suitable for even your tiniest monsters. Fun, entertaining and sneakily educational!

Past-Times Living History will be at the castle today (Monday, October 25), Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday 31st October.

Here's what you can expect:

  • An audience with King Henry VIII and his two careless wives [they lost their heads] *
  • Beastly Bad Queen Bess - she is always in a bad mood especially if you don't tell her how beautiful she is!
  • Murderous Mary - don't disagree with her otherwise things might get heated!
  • Grim the Executioner will prowl the castle with tales of gore
  • Wee Jobbie the Gaoler will be looking out for new residents in the dungeon - so be on your best behaviour
  • Take part in our Gruesome Game Show!
  • The headless wives and the squabbling sovereigns will chat amongst you, telling their stories and answering questions (so make sure you come with some good ones!)
  • Spooky story-telling (not too scary...suitable for even your little ghouls and tiny monsters.

*Henry VIII will not be at the Castle on Tuesday 26th October
