LodeFest - the riverside music festival - is back!

LodeFest 2022 - an intimate, family riverside music festival - is happening this weekend!

Following the success of the first LodeFest at The Lower Lode Inn, Forthampton, near Tewkesbury, last year, organisers are doing it again from Friday,August 26th to Sunday, August 28th.

The riverside stage will once again be at the centre of LodeFest.

Organised by local musicians Richie Lane and Stuart Fox, LodeFest 2022 is set to feature an eclectic mix of talented artists and bands from the local area and beyond.

The three-day line-up of music starts at around 3pm on Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Reivers Gallows, a brilliant traditional Irish folk band will be returning to play on Friday; "Bristol Ska Royalty" The Emperials will be playing on Saturday; the Glevum Big Band ease the audience into Sunday with their mix of Jazz, Swing, Latin and dance music.

Also performing will be Spencer Flay, who was spotted on the BBC show 'We Are England' recently; local favourites, The No Good Nancys; Trevor Babajack Steger and singer songwriter Mark Illingworth.

Finishing off the weekend will be local Brit Pop legends Masterplan who are impossible to watch without singing along. These are just a few highlights from a line-up packed with talented bands and musicians.

Alongside the music, the Lower Lode Inn will be running its beer festival bar and putting on a range of pub food and 'festival' fast food.

There will also be stalls and kids' entertainment including a bouncy castle.

Co-organiser Stuart Fox said: "After the misery of lockdowns and the devastation it caused in particular to musicians and the pub industry, we really wanted to do something to celebrate local talent and bring everyone together. We have a vast pool of amazing musical talent on our doorstep here in Tewkesbury, and everyone agreed that it was a much-needed party. We're excited to be back and doing it again this year!

"It was amazing to get such lovely feedback after last year, and to add icing to the cake, we raised over £1,200 for Young Lives Vs. Cancer, a charity who are close to our hearts after directly helping my co-organiser's family.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone back this year for a weekend of live music and fun."

Pre-booked tickets are £15 for a day pass and £30 for a weekend pass. Camping passes are available from £10 but are limited.

LodeFest 2022 will once again be fundraising for Young Lives Vs Cancer. More information on what the charity do can be found at www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk
