Go green, go on the great Winchcombe Sale Trail

Find a bargain, reduce waste. Maybe make new friends along the way.

That's the idea behind Winchcombe's first Sale Trail, with pitches all around the town from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, April 9.

Click on or search this address http://www.bit.ly/WinchSaleTrail  for an online map and list of all the locations, or pick one up at Food Fanatics, the Fair-Trade deli on North Street. Or just wander around town on the morning. Be early, and don't forget to bring your own carrier bags - or a wheelbarrow!

Around 30 sites from Langley Road to Riverside, Gretton Road to Castle Street, will be offering reasonable quality, good value household goods for sale. The items are still being assembled but will include such things as coffee makers, computer desk, printer, CDs and paintings.

The venture has been organised by The Waste Not group, part of the Winchcombe Green Town initiative, which is concerned with reducing the waste by encouraging repair, re-use and re-purposing of household items.

Spokesperson Dave Wade said the event would create the opportunity for people to declutter after a spring clean.

He said: "We have 40 people wanting to be involved, some of whom are wanting to donate to a good cause."

Part of proceeds will go to charities, such as those helping Ukraine, or to support community ventures, such as WAM, a local youth group.

The initiative follows two well-attended meetings in support of Winchcombe Green Town. Other activities being planned include a repair shop and a nearly new clothes sale.
