Football legends coming to Cirencester

Calling all football fans! Two famous faces will be in town for one night only.

An exclusive one-off evening, in conversation with Sam Allardyce and Phil Brown, is being hosted on Thursday 23rd November in The Golden Cross Inn.

Former England manager and prolific pro-player Sam Allardyce, who made 578 appearances, scoring 42 goals, and who has managed 13 professional clubs during his career; will be joined by Phil Brown, renowned for leading Hull City to Championship safety, and for the first time in the club's 104-year history, achieving promotion to the Premier League, amongst many other notable achievements.

Allardyce and Brown will regale guests with the many stories from their remarkable careers throughout the evening, with a meet and greet before dinner cooked by head chef Giles Lee, and a Q&A session at the end of the event.

Tickets are £80 per head to include dinner, and can be bought in person in The Golden Cross or by calling 01285 652137.

The Golden Cross Inn on Blackjack Street in Cirencester was taken over almost a year ago by Stephen Cook, who also runs The Swan at Swinbrook and Cygnet Catering.

Steve appointed Giles Lee as head chef and Sam Ellis as general manager, who have taken the popular Arkell's pub from strength to strength.
