Countdown to the Phoenix Festival

The Phoenix Festival team are counting down the days to the Cotswolds' largest free-to-enter, community-led music and performing arts festival!

After a two-year gap, this much loved and much missed festival is firmly back on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th over the August Bank Holiday weekend in the Abbey Grounds, Cirencester.

On the Cozy Powell Stage festival fans will be treated to special guest headliners Whole Lotta Led - THE tribute to the legendary Led Zeppelin, on Saturday and Michael Starring Ben - the ultimate Michael Jackson show, direct from the West End, on Sunday.

There will also be a diverse array of local support artists, including charismatic duo Ethemia; alternative rock originals The Leon Daye Band; slick and groovy The Dirty Smooth and folk orientated Splat the Rat.

Topping the Phoenix Stage are "human jukebox" Pavo on Saturday and multi genre classics with DJ NJ on Sunday; plus singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist George Montague and the NotSoBigBand; the foot-stomping Rhythm Slingers; bluesy grooves with Rude Mood; eclectic covers with the Barking Chickens; explosive punk with the Useless Eaters; and many, many more.

The Arena will showcase popular regulars Cirencester Creative Dance Academy and Minety Dance Theatre School along with Ciren Skillz martial arts, Cirencester Elite Cheerleading Academy and Cotswold Gymnastics.

There will also be a bigger Creative Zone with art and craft materials on hand to create a festival mask or junk monster. Have a go at circus skills with Clare's Circus; enjoy storytelling with the Book Fairy; plus new for this year, write/draw a creative story or play, at a 15 minute taster session with Sophia, from Cirencester Theatre Company; or take "time out" and just chill in the designated Quiet Area.

Glen Moreman, festival manager, said: "It's been too long but we are so excited the countdown has finally started! We can't wait to welcome all our festival fans, the artists, performers and contributors and share all the fantastic creative talent and spirit that we have within the community."

Broadcasting live, the festival welcomes back Corinium Radio and BBC Radio Gloucestershire with their roaming reporters, live interviews, pop ups and radio cars.

Fairground rides and festival food and drink will also be a plenty.
