Countdown to the 2023 Midsummer Fiesta is on!

Cheltenham's biggest free community event is back again in Montpellier Gardens on Saturday, 15 July.

This year's event, which runs from 12 noon to 9pm, will host amazing local talent across the mainstage and bandstand.

Acts will include Lucy Parish, Queer Voices, Dahlia, Cheltenham Rock Choir, Goldenstep, Coady Crew, Blue to the Bone, Kaiju Blue and more performing throughout the day.

The Children's Village will offer lots of free and low cost activities from the Music Man, face painting, World Jungle Circus, bubbles, go karts, to bouncy castles, face painting, as well as the YMCA sports cage with coaching from Cheltenham Town Football Club and Ola Samba workshops.

Our marketplace will include over 60 stalls with local produce, crafts and information from local businesses and charities to browse. The event also includes fairground rides, classic cars, a quiet area and the Mobiloo changing facility.

There will be six caterers on the day offering delicious food and drinks options, including vegetarian and vegan choices as well as bars provided by Severn Cider and Camper Vin.

The festival will also celebrate 75 years of the NHS with a dedicated area of the park showcasing NHS history and current services, including blood pressure, diabetes risk and glucose level checks.

Cllr Flo Clucas, cabinet member for safety and communities, said: "Our Midsummer Fiesta is a great event for children and families to have fun and enjoy a great day. With lots to do and lots to see, it promises to be a fantastic fiesta! So come and have a fabulous time. Thanks to our partners and sponsors who have worked with us to create our feast of fun!"

Volunteers are still needed to join in on the day and with so much on offer at the fiesta, volunteers are vital for the event. Help is needed for setting up, including with the marketplace stalls, children's activities, marshalling vehicles on and off site, meeting and greeting, closing down the event, and lots more.

The festival team is looking for volunteers who can support for any number of hours between 12 noon and 6pm. If you are interested in joining our volunteering team please email volunteering@cheltenham.gov.uk

More information about the event is available at the Midsummer Fiesta website.
