Cirencester Polo Club opens restaurant for charity lunch

Cirencester Park Polo Club will open the doors to its members' restaurant and bar this season to everyone, starting with a charity pop-up lunch for Mother's Day (Sunday, March 27).

Ivy Lodge Bar & Brasserie is now under the stewardship of chef and hotelier Ethan Rodgers. With permission from the club, they will now be open to the public for lunches as well as take bookings for private functions.

"It is an honour to run the bar and brasserie and I am looking forward to a great season," said Ethan. "We have some great plans for the venue including champagne lunches, specialist seafood, including sushi. We will be open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and the bar will be open later at the weekends."

It will officially open on Easter weekend when the polo season gets underway but in the meantime Ethan and his team have put together a special Sunday lunch that utilises some of his various local suppliers, including New Wave Seafood for Maldon oysters, farmer John Hind for the rib of beef and Toby and Churri from Duntisbourne for his roasted Old Spot pork and the Bathurst Estate itself for its wild garlic.

The special Mother's Day lunch will support The Countess Bathurst's chosen charity, the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NRSA), a cause close to her heart since working with the police as the High Sheriff of Gloucestershire.
