Cheltenham pub to stage popular festival again

ExFest is set to return to Cheltenham this weekend June with a stellar line-up of live music, food, ale and fun for all the family.

The festival, held at The Exmouth Arms on Bath Road in Cheltenham, will run from Friday, June 9th, to Sunday, June 11th, kick-starting with an eclectic mix of Britpop anthems from Gloucestershire band Masterplan on the Friday evening.

On Saturday 10th June there will be more live music in the pub garden from local performers Jack Taylor, Sym and the Shady Branch Band, Steel Weasels, Charlton Blues Kings, Run Yoshi, Run and Slowjin, with the final act Strum 'n' bass, playing their set inside from 9pm.

The Sunday is set to be an occasion for all the family, featuring entertainment from The Music Man, face painting from Cheltenham Face Painting, plus some more music weaved into the mix with the Leon Daye Band, and the much-loved annual dog show in association with Cotswold Hound, with categories including waggiest tail, best trick, prettiest lady and most handsome boy, and best in show.

The pizza oven will be fired up over the weekend too and the pub's Horsebox Bar will be open serving a range of drinks.

The weekend will once again be raising funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, so that they can continue to provide expert palliative care, advice and support for families during the most difficult times of their lives, with hospice volunteers supporting on the Saturday with a charity tombola.

Tor Simmons, manager at The Exmouth Arms, said: "We are really looking forward to this year's ExFest event and welcoming everyone to the pub for another jam-packed weekend.

"We are once again raising vital funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, a charity the Exmouth has been pleased to support for the last six years.

"I am particularly excited about this year's dog show and seeing some of Cheltenham's perfect pooches as part of our Sunday fun day! Good luck to you all!"

Alysia Cameron-Price, community fundraising officer at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: "ExFest is always a highlight in the Cheltenham calendar and each year the Exmouth team go above and beyond to make sure it is an incredible weekend for all. A huge thank you to everyone involved for their continued support, helping us be there when it matters."
