After the drama, are you up for the drama group?

Exciting news - there are moves to set up a Winchcombe and district AmDram group.

And you don't have to be the next Laurence Olivier to join - there will be lots of opportunities front of and back stage.

The move by Winchcombe Arts & Community Hub (WACH) follows a nail-biting year which ended with the purchase of the Methodist Hall.

The initiative has been started by Rory O'Sullivan, former drama teacher at Pate's Grammar School, Cheltenham, and Cliff Cocks, who has extensive experience with amateur theatre groups, with WACH operations co-ordinator Carrie Wade.

The first meeting will be held in the downstairs room of The White Hart in Winchcombe at 7pm on Tuesday 27 February.

They are looking not only for performers and musicians, but also back-stage volunteers, technical staff, costume and set designers and makers, and others.

For starters, they plan to stage a panto at Christmas and there are also hopes of arranging a murder mystery evening as a fund-raiser in the meantime.

If you plan to come along, please email carrie_wade@hotmail.co.uk

It is not necessary to have stage experience, but if you do so, or you have an interest in a particular aspect, it would be helpful to mention it when replying.
