Time-travelling toilet rolls into Corinium Museum for half term

Cirencester's Corinium museum is launching a gallery trail inspired by 'Ted and his Time-Travelling Toilet', the award-winning children's book series by author Steven Vinacour.

The latest book, 'No Viking? No Liking!', sees Ted tackle a school bully by flushing himself into the past and landing in the Viking age.

To celebrate the launch, children can follow a specially designed trail through the museum's galleries, helping Ted uncover Viking facts while enjoying illustrations straight from the book. The trail opens on Saturday, October 25.

Author Steven said: "I am very excited to launch the No Viking? No Liking! Trail with Corinium Museum. It's a great place to bring history alive and they have some very nice toilets, although I am reliably informed that they are not to be used for time-travelling attempts."

Steven will also host a creative writing workshop at the museum on Saturday, November 1, at 11am, where budding storytellers can dive into the world of Ted, ask questions, and get their books signed.

Alongside the trail, the museum is offering a series of craft workshops from Monday, October 27, to Thursday, October 30, each themed around mythical creatures. Children can create everything from clay gargoyles and creepy cupcakes to medieval bestiary books and peg doll dioramas, inspired by the museum's mosaics and artefacts.

Art lovers can also join a special Collaborative Draw and Explore session on Saturday, October 25, at 10.30am, led by illustrators from the museum's Illuminating the Year exhibition. This hands-on workshop will guide children through seasonal changes using colour, nature, and imagination.

Pre-booking is essential for all the half-term family workshops and tickets are available from the Corinium Museum website.
