Stars of stage and screen to appear in The Full Monty
By David Wood
West End stars and TV favourites headline in the new UK stage production, premiering in Cheltenham this autumn, ahead of a national tour.
There are no heroes in Simon Beaufoy's heartfelt play, just a group of lads trying to regain their dignity and pride. This fast and funny play is still very much of our time, as again we are hit by a cost-of-living crisis.

Gaz and his mates are down on their luck and feel they have been thrown on the scrap heap, but they are determined to fight back and bare a little more than they ever thought they would have to. As in the 1997 smash hit film, this brand-new production is a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, laughs and heartbreak.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the film on a major national tour, premiering at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, co-produced with Buxton Opera House in association with Mark Goucher and David Pugh.
The production will tour to some of the UK's most prestigious venues through 2024.
Mark Goucher, CEO of The Everyman Theatre, said: "The Full Monty was an iconic film and to be making this brand new stage production for The Everyman is very exciting. We have a great cast and creative team and to be co-producing the show with another first class regional theatre like Buxton is an important move to developing regional partnerships."
Relive the music of the 90s and have a great night out in the company of our group of lads, as they work to put on the show of their lives.
The show features a hot man for everyone! Starring Danny Hatchard (EastEnders, Ridley Road, Our Girl, SCROOGE) as Gaz; Jake Quickenden (Footloose, Hair, XFactor, Dancing on Ice) as Guy; and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Everybody's Talking About Jamie) as Gerald; with Neil Hurst (Fat Friends the Musical, All Creatures Great and Small, Coronation Street) as Dave; Ben Onwukwe (The Shawshank Redemption, Professor T, Marcella) as Horse and Nicholas Prasad (Around the World in 80 Days, The Comedy of Errors, Doctors) as Lomper.
The show runs at the Everyman Theatre from Thursday, September 14, to Saturday, September 23.
Tickets are on sale at The Everyman Theatre or book online now at www.everymantheatre.org.uk/shows/the-full-monty/
