The Bourmenouth Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating the New Year with a Strauss Gala at the lovely setting of Cheltenham Town Hall on Sunday afternoon (January 6).

Once again the BSO will evoke the heady atmosphere of the Vienna Philharmonic's annual New Year's Day concert at the Musikverien, by celebrating 2019's arrival with an uplifting selection of waltzes, marches and arias by the King of the Waltz and his contemporaries.

The full forces of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra under charismatic Viennese conductor Thomas Rösner (pictured) will be joined by an outstanding guest soprano to bring you an evening of swirling melodies, glamour and sparkle.

Favourites will include the Merry Wives of Windsor Overture, Tik-Tak Polka, An Artist's Life, A Night in Venice, and, of course, The Radetzky March and The Blue Danube.
