When: Sunday, September 16, 10am-4pm

This Sunday (September 16), the Midlands Air Ambulance Airbase Open Day takes place at Strensham northbound services from 10am - 4pm.

The open day is fre to attend and a great opportunity to take a tour of one of the air ambulances and meet the aircrew.

The open day also includes a bouncy castle, trade stalls, refreshments, a raffle and visits from other emergency services including the police and fire service.

At 12 noon, Anthony Stockman, event organiser of the Tewkesbury Classic Vehicle Festival, will be flying in to the Midlands Air Ambulance operational base at Strensham to present a cheque for £6,000 to Roger Pemberton, the chairman of the board of trustees, Midlands Air Ambulance.

Last month The Rotary Club of Tewkesbury staged their annual Classic Vehicle Festival at Tewkesbury School Playing Fields. The event is the Rotary Club's biggest charity annual fundraiser and supports both national and regional charities.

The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which used the showground as an operational base for the day, is just one of the numerous charity beneficiaries.

Speaking on behalf of the Rotary Club of Tewkesbury, Anthony Stockman said: "For a number of years we have supported the stellar work of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

"The Midlands Air Ambulance is one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK serving Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands.

"They provide rapid response and the best possible pre-hospital care to those suffering serious injury and illness.

"They receive no Government funding and rely solely on donations to fund and operate their three air ambulances. We are delighted to support their life-saving work."
