Gloucester's Rhythm & Blues Festival returns

The city swings again with the return of the Rhythm & Blues Festival - 10 venues over 10 days!

A highlight of Gloucester's summer calendar, the city's much-loved Rhythm & Blues Festival, coordinated by Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) and supported by 10 amazing venues, is set to bring the streets alive once again.

For 10 jam-packed days, from July 25 to August 3, local legends, rising stars, and international blues talents will take over pubs and live music venues across the city.

With more than 65 live performances lined up - from laid-back afternoon sets to foot-stomping evening shows - there's something happening around every corner.

Mark Cole, one of the performers who is playing on opening night, said: "I've been playing at this festival since it started over 30 years ago and it never fails to deliver a great experience for the artists. The fact that bands are still lining up to try and get on the bill is a product of its enduring success and appeal.

"Being local, I may be a bit biased, but I've played at festivals in many countries, and our festival is up there with the very best the blues scene has to offer. I'm sure it will still be around and just as popular in another 30 years!"

Katie Thomas, festival organiser, said: "We've got another epic line-up for you this year with over 65 acts - the venues have booked some fantastic artists. We're really excited to have another three venues onboard, meaning there's now 10 to choose from across 10 days! Plus, we welcome back festival favourites The Dusk Brothers. There really is something for everyone to enjoy."

With 10 days of non-stop music on the horizon, now's the time to plan your blues adventure.

Visit the Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival website for the full line-up and venue details, or pick up a programme from each of the venues, and follow the dedicated Facebook page for the latest updates, artist spotlights, and behind-the-scenes sneak peeks.
