Giffords Circus introduces street food to its menu

Where: Fennells Farm Stroud, followed by tour dates at Sudeley Castle, Daylesford, The Fox Inn in Barrington and the village green at Frampton on Severn

When: May 12 to September 24, 2017

Giffords Circus' dazzling new international gymnastic show, Any Port In A Storm, opens in Stroud on Friday and visitors will be able to tuck into delicious street food this year.

Head chef Oliver Halas and his team, who have been brought together from across the Cotswolds, have revealed their new culinary concept of Field Food - the circus' equivalent of street food.

Field Food will occupy a new wagon and will be available throughout the day. Ollie and his team will forage locally from farms, fields and farmers' markets wherever Giffords Circus performs.

Ollie said: "With our new wagon, we're able to offer something completely new - Field Food, with a goal to support local businesses around us and exploit the wonderful produce we have available along our way.

"The food has to be seasonal and fresh and as we're touring through some of the most bountiful areas of the UK, this won't be an issue. Whilst Circus Sauce will continue to serve up popular British classics, Field Food will provide different options for people to experience.

"We're looking forward to welcoming guests both old and new and would like to thank all our diners for their continued support."

The Field Food wagon will serve delicacies such as braised brisket buns, Asian slaw, deep fried courgettes and lamb brushettes. Over the weekends, the Field Food wagon will be open before the show starts serving crispy bacon sandwiches or healthier options like granola and yoghurt. Gluten and dairy free will also be available.

For the perfect interval fix, pizza from the Chadwick pizza ovens, candyfloss, popcorn, hot and cold drinks and baked goods are all available from the restaurant tent.

In the Circus Sauce restaurant, the UK's only travelling restaurant, guests can dine on delicious three-course menus, served on large sharing platters to be enjoyed together in an informal fashion.

Circus-goers can enjoy a renowned Circus Sauce meal following the last show of the day. Sunday lunch is served once at each ground. The prices are £30 (£35 in London) for adults and £20 (£25 in London) for children aged 14 and under. Circus Sauce is not a licensed restaurant and diners are invited to bring their own drinks.
