Get hands-on with art and science at Cheltenham Fun Palace

Where: Cheltenham Library, Clarence Street

Cheltenham Library is transforming into a 'Fun Palace' this Saturday, October 7 - don't miss this fantastic free event!

The Fun Palace will keep the whole family entertained and includes a dynamic mixture of arts, science, crafts and technology, all with the aim of bringing people together to work, create and have fun.

The Cheltenham Library Fun Palace will join hundreds of venues worldwide that are taking part by holding free, interactive events.

A selection of activities on the day will include:

  • Robot programming with Oh-Bot
  • Guest appearance and book reading by children's author and poet Joseph Coelho and illustrator Fiona Lumbers at 2.15pm
  • 'Cuddly Science' puppets, colouring and readings by Salaric Craft
  • Silk painting hosted by Adult Education Gloucestershire
  • 'Crack the Safe' - how will you break the secret code?
  • 'Spaghetti Towers' building challenge hosted by RICS Matrics, Gloucestershire
  • Bookmark and leaf embroidery hosted by the Embroiderers Guild
  • Kid's treasure hunt
  • Fun science challenges and arts activities. Guests include local talents poet Angela France and artistic scientist Sarah Snell-Pym.

Activities are family-friendly and free to attend with no booking necessary.
