Gala evening to celebrate new Steinway B piano

Where: Tetbury Goods Shed Arts Centre
When: Saturday, November 17, 7.45pm
A Gala Evening is being held at Tetbury Goods Shed on Saturday (November 17) to celebrate their new Steinway B piano.
The piano has been donated to the Goods Shed but in order to keep it permanently it needs to raise around £20,000 in the next 18 months. This concert is the start of a fund-raising campaign to achieve that total.
Jan Vriend will be playing all four of Chopin's Scherzos and Ballades in celebration. The composer and pianist has given a few sell-out recitals in aid of the Goods Shed in the past, in which his love of Chopin's music was obvious.
Nick Ullmann, artistic director of the Goods Shed, said: "To devote an entire concert to works by one of the greatest piano composers of all time will be a great chance to show off the virtuoso qualities of the new piano.
"The evening will be in celebratory mode and your ticket will include a glass of wine or soft drink, some canapés and will represent a first donation.
"If you like what you hear and want to know about other ways in which you can contribute, there will be more information on the night."
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.45pm start.
