A one-day beer and music festival in the Cotswolds next month aims to boost both grass-roots football and local charities.
Set against the scenic backdrop of The Meadow ground, on London Road in Brimscombe, the Lilywhites Beer Festival is named after Brimscombe and Thrupp Football Club (BTFC), who will host the event from 2.00 until 10pm on June 28 at its ground in the village.

Known affectionately as the Lilywhites, BTFC boasts a history that dates back to 1886 and now plays at tier nine in football (step five in the non-league hierarchy) as a member of the Hellenic League Premier division.

Rod Beer, club secretary, told Punchline-Gloucester.com: "The day promises to be a highlight of the local calendar with a vibrant atmosphere packed with flavour, music, and community spirit."
Drink options will include locally brewed beer and cider, wine, prosecco and Pimms while the event also promises "banging tunes from a mix of local DJ's bringing big energy and good vibes throughout the day, and as the sun sets."
Popular local band Tripwire will also take to the stage in the packed schedule.

With tickets at £10, hot and cold food will be available and U18s go free, while free parking at the event is also provided.
Stroud District Foodbank has been cited as among beneficiaries of the event, which also aims to boost the coffers of local football clubs.
