Dom Joly announces 2026 'SpeakeaZy' dates

Cheltenham-based comedian and travel writer Dom Joly has announced the first dates for his 'SpeakeaZy' in 2026.

Dom launched 'A Cabaret of Curiosities' at the Steam & Whistle pub in April and it quickly established itself as a must-see addition to Cheltenham's cultural life.

Tickets are now on sale for the Thursday evening shows on January 15, February 5 and March 5, from 7.30pm.

Every time new dates are announced, tickets are snapped up. The final three shows for 2025 sold out in an astonishing 48 hours. The overwhelming local demand justifies Dom's original vision: this unique project was specifically created in Cheltenham for Cheltenham, not London. The reaction seems to confirm that his hometown vision was always the right call.

Dom Joly says: "Curating this show in my hometown has been an absolute joy. It's a genuine thrill to invite friends, artists, and heroes that I love and admire to come and perform. I so wanted to add to the town's already flourishing entertainment scene, and judging by the feedback, we've done it!"

A Cabaret of Curiosities: The surprises keep coming

Every SpeakeaZy is different, driven by Dom's anarchic sense of fun, genuine curiosity about his guests and impeccable music taste. The show blends warts and all tales from his 30 years stumbling through showbusiness alongside exclusive live performances and stunning comedy performances. The core format is a late night, intimate chat show vibe.

Dom added: "We've had the hilarious Seann Walsh, the brilliant Jenny Éclair, music from Babybird, The Bluetones, Leisure Society, local talent such as Saint Senara, plus incredible upcoming musicians such as Tom A Smith, who Elton John called 'a massive star for the future'.

"Our October show brought the house down with some unexpected semi-serious chat about the state of the nation. We invited The Rt. Hon. Alex Chalk KC, the former Lord Chancellor & Secretary of State for Justice and former MP for Cheltenham.

"He dropped some serious political bombs and shared tales from behind the scenes, while dealing brilliantly with what could be accurately described as an unusually vocal audience."

A highly unofficial leak

Sports fans should really enjoy one of the new dates in early 2026. Prepare yourselves for the kind of sports analysis you will never see on TV. Dom always keeps his guests a secret, and his January's guest is literally so secret, he might have to make you sign the Official Secrets Act.
