Discover the Cotswolds with Treasure Trails

Visitors in pursuit of some beautiful autumnal walks in the Cotswolds can experience a new perspective of the heart of England with a fantastic, fun adventure trail.

Daring detectives can undertake a Treasure Trail around the stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which spans five counties and almost 800 square miles.

The two-mile, self-guided Trails require you to decipher sneaky clues set on buildings, landmarks and monuments to solve one of three types of adventure - a detective mystery, spy mission or a treasure hunt.

Aaron Hutchens, general manager of Treasure Trails, said: "The Cotswolds are a beautiful part of the country, and we have created numerous Trails in the area to enable visitors to interact with the stunning surroundings.

"We have seen a huge increase in sales of Treasure Trails over the last few months as they offer the perfect way to get outdoors and have fun responsibly, while getting everyone's steps up."

Costing just £9.99 for a family or small group, Treasure Trails are the perfect way to discover and explore one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. Visit www.treasuretrails.co.uk  to choose your Trail. There are more than 1,200 available across the UK.

Here are our Top Five Treasure Trails in the Cotswolds:

1, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire (Detective Mystery, 1.5 hours, 1.6 miles)

The Trail will take you from the village centre through some of the most scenic and historical parts of Bourton, including the five bridges over the River Windrush, the Model Village, the Motor Museum, Birdland and the site of a Roman encampment.

2, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire (Detective Mystery, 2 hours, 2 miles)

The Trail starts at the Guildhall at the far end of the market square and guides you on a route full of twists and turns around the town centre. You will head past the site of an ancient castle, through some woodland and back up into the town, finishing back in the market square.

3, Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire (Treasure Hunt, 2 hours, 2 miles)

Starting in the town square, this Trail leads you from the town centre through some of the most scenic and historical areas of lovely Stow-on-the-Wold. You will pass through the parks, squares and streets of this wonderful, classic Cotswold market town.

4, Broadway, Worcestershire (Spy Mission, 2 hours, 1.5 miles)

The Trail starts and finishes at the edge of the village, with its long, wide high street bordered by beautifully kept greens. As you solve the clues, note the wonderful mix of cottages and larger houses with fine architecture, mainly built with the local golden Cotswold Stone.
