Curtain set to rise on festive family treat in Stroud

A classic panto is set to delight audiences in Stroud during the Christmas season.

Cinderella, a fantastic family treat filled with festive fun, is brought to you at Stroud Subscription Rooms by the same team that produced last year's critically acclaimed production of Beauty and the Beast.

Join the cast at The Sub Rooms as the most famous girl in fairy-tale history rises above the odds, defeats her ugly stepsisters, escapes the shackles of her wicked stepmother, and wins the heart of the impossibly handsome Prince Charming. A must-see theatrical experience for every member of every family in Stroud.

Phil Dale, creative director of Phoenix Theatre Group, said: "We can't wait to return to The Sub Rooms with a brand-new production of the greatest pantomime story of them all!

"We were delighted with how the people of Stroud took our production of Beauty and the Beast to their hearts and we are planning on delivering an even bigger treat with this year's production of Cinderella. I can't wait for everyone to find out how Cinders gets to the ball!"

The show runs from Thursday, December 22, to Monday, January 2. Tickets are selling well though there is still some availability between Christmas and New Year performances.

There will be a relaxed performance on Tuesday, December 27 at 1pm. A relaxed performance is a show that's been adapted to suit people who might require a more relaxed environment when going to the theatre. Usually, these are adults or children with learning difficulties, autism or sensory communication disorders.

The house lights will be kept on throughout the performance and the volume of the music will be reduced. The atmosphere, as the name suggests, will be relaxed, audience members will be allowed to move around and the bar area will be available for anyone who needs a quiet place during the performance.

Tickets are priced £15 - £22 and for more information see https://thesubrooms.co.uk/whats-on/cinderella-469
