Crazy Golf at the Goods Shed

Where: Stroud Goods Shed, Station Yd, Stroud, GL5 3AP

When: OPEN DAILY, 4th August - 2nd September 10am - 4pm

If you feel like releasing your inner golfing ambitions or challenging yourself to a have more fun and creative golfing experience then Crazy Golf is for you.

If you come along to the Goods Shed in Stroud this month you will find an amazing range of Crazy Golf holes designed by children and made by artists.

SVA, an arts organisation based in Stroud has been running Crazy Golf for the last 4 summers and have had hundreds of visitors of all ages. Each year children are encouraged to draw their own designs, which are then displayed in the Goods Shed alongside the Crazy Golf holes.

"The drawings have been so good, imaginative and fun that we decided they wanted to invite children to design the holes for this year's event instead of artists" Dan Rawlings, artist

"It's been so good to follow the drawings of the children's designs and bring them to life in 2D and 3D. We really hope the kids will enjoy coming to see them and join in Crazy Golf which has been inspired by their creative imagination" said Holly English, artist.

This year you can see 18 Crazy Golf holes designed by children, many with an animal theme including a Whale designed by Luna and her sisters Ayun and Millan, a giraffe designed by Lula and a Stegosaurus designed by Stan.

"It's really good fun because there is lots of fun things to play with. I really love the giraffe" Phaedra Van de Ven (7 years old)

SVA are planning to present Crazy Golf again next year inspired by a new set of drawings by children. So, bring along the young and inspired and encourage them to get drawing - they might get selected for next year!

Crazy Golf is sponsored by WSP Textiles in Stroud with the supply of green felt for the golf course. SVA is looking for additional sponsorship to make to continue to make this an annual summer family event.
