Where: Hucclecote Community Association, Hucclecote Road, Gloucester, GL3 3RT
When: Friday, June 7, 10am to 12pm
This Friday, The Hucclecote Community Association (HCA) will be hosting a coffee morning to raise funds for Cancer Research UK in memory of well-loved local councillor, Lise Noakes.
Everyone is welcome, with all proceeds being donated to Cancer Research UK and the Barnwood-based charity, James Hopkins Trust.
Lise was well-known figure within both Hucclecote and Barnwood communities, devoting a lot of her time over the years to the HCA as one their long-standing trustees.
Cllr Paul James, leader of Gloucester City Council, said in a previous Punchline article: " I don't think anyone could have doubted her passion for the city, for her portfolio and her commitment to the people she represented.
"Lise was first elected in 1990 as councillor Marshall, representing the Hucclecote ward, and for a time was the group's housing spokesman. After a 10-year break, she was elected in 2004 to serve the Barnwood ward and has served continuously ever since."
Annette Speller, from the HCA, said: "It was with great sadness that we learnt of her illness and on hearing her passing and everyone at HCA has been deeply affected. Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
"We would like as many people to come to the coffee morning as possible and support us in this great cause."
