Hugh Cornwell, one of the UK's finest songwriter talents and most accomplished live performers takes the stage at Gloucester Guildhall on Wednesday, October 25.
Performing solo, Hugh will play through an array of hits which span his entire career from early Stranglers to brand new never performed material.
During his time as guitarist, singer and main songwriter for British rock band The Stranglers, Cornwell gained numerous successes including 10 hit albums and 21 top 40 singles including Peaches, Golden Brown, Nice n' Sleazy, Always the Sun and Duchess, to name a few.
Cornwell's last studio album Totem and Taboo was released to rave reviews. Recorded at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, the album was engineered and mixed by the legendary producer Steve Albini (The Pixies, Nirvana).
Since beginning his solo career Hugh Cornwell has toured the UK with Blondie, even recruiting Blondie drummer Clem Burke for a solo tour of the USA which included a guest appearance by Ash's Tim Wheeler in New York.
More recently Cornwell was invited by John Cooper Clarke to join him for Cooper Clarke's This Time It's Personal album and tour. The tour set prominently featured Cornwell on lead guitar (and, occasionally, lead vocals), and included songs from his Stranglers repertoire.
Tickets are priced at £22.50 and are available from 01452 503050.
Doors open at 7.30pm and Hugh's first set will begin promptly at 8pm. This is a seated event.
