Brewhouse & Kitchen launches new beer-inspired menu

Where: Brewhouse & Kitchen, Gloucester Quays and The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham

When: Available now

Brewpub group Brewhouse & Kitchen has overhauled its menu to showcase more creative beer-based cookery.

Designed by Executive Chef Tom Bew the new menu includes a selection of dishes created using different variations of beer as a key ingredient, a range of B&K favourites and sharing plates, as well as lighter dishes and burgers, each perfectly matched to a particular style of beer.

The incorporation of beer across the menu is particularly evident in the selection of burgers, each served in a sourdough beer bun and topped with homemade IPA cured pickle, a cask ale relish and a portion of fries tossed in a garlic and hop salt.

Other new beer-inspired offerings include starters such as Mexican Lager & Corn Soup (£4.75) and Tortilla Chips & Beer Dips (£5.25) served with IPA hummus, cask ale cheese sauce and hopped sour cream and chive dip and main dishes such as IPA Battered Fish and Chips (£10.75).

For dessert, try the new sharing Chocolate & Cask Ale Fondue (£9.95), served with doughnut pieces, marshmallows and crisp apple.

Tom says: "This new menu is the result of lots of thinking outside the box on how to bring beer into our food, not just in our classic dishes, but in new and exciting ways too.

"I am looking forward to seeing our guests get to try some beer-based cookery they may have never experienced elsewhere before."

For lunch, diners can enjoy one of B&K's 'proper' sandwiches including Homemade Fish Fingers (£5.50) made with Alaskan pollock coated in panko crumbs, with crisp lettuce and homemade tartare sauce.

A selection of lighter options will also be available including  salads such as Pea, Broad Bean and Grilled Feta (£8.50) and Asian Rojak (£8.50), which are both suitable for vegetarians and gluten free.

A weekly Sunday lunch menu offers 21-Day Aged Birchstead Beef (£12.50) or Beer Can Roast Chicken (£11.50) to share, each served with all the trimmings, including homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy.

With a dedicated brewer and microbrewery at each site, including The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham and Gloucester Quays, the group founded in 2013 produces over 285 unique craft beers and also sources a further 50 craft beers and ciders from breweries across the world.
