Ben Miller is the 'voice' of Corinium Museum

Corinium Museum in Cirencester is delighted to announce its multimedia audio guide, with the mobile app for smartphones, is now available to hire in the museum.

The voice of the audio guide is actor Ben Miller, a super supporter of Corinium Museum.

Amanda Hart, museum director, said: "Thank you to Ben for giving his precious time amongst a very busy schedule. It is the icing on the cake following the reimagination of Corinium Museum and the £1.87 million investment from the National Lottery Heritage Fund money, donations, and sponsorships."

The audio guide will take you through:

  • New Exhibits: Discover the archaeology of the Cotswolds. Get up close and personal with objects that are hundreds of thousands of years old in the new immersive exhibits that are now fully open in the New Stone Age to Corinium Galleries.
  • Exceptional Bronze Age objects, on loan from The British Museum are now showing at Corinium Museum. These pieces are remarkable and previously unseen and will form part of the Bronze Age display in the new galleries.
  • Visit Roman Cirencester, known as Corinium, Roman Britain's second-largest city. View the many spectacular and internationally renowned treasures on display, along with the chance to explore the rich heritage of the Cotswold area in ways not seen before.

Corinium Museum engaged ATS to produce the audio guide. Spencer Clark, managing director, said: "This has been such a special production for us. We were honoured to work with the team at the Corinium Museum to produce an audio guide that brings these stories of archaeology discoveries from the Cotswolds to life.

"Storytelling is at the heart of what we do and we hope that this audio guide allows visitors to engage more deeply with the fascinating history of this region".

To continue with social distancing requirements, the number of visitors to the museum will be limited and tickets will need to be booked in advance online at coriniummuseum.org
