E198 Punchline Talks! with Mark Cummings, Neill Ricketts, Glenn Collingbourne & Ben Limbrick
By Mark Owen | 23rd May 2025
Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses. Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.
The Business Breakfast Briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.
This week's panel of experts were:
Neill Ricketts - graphene guru, former chair of Forest of Dean Economic Partnership. He's now Chair of GSS (GAS Sensing Solutions - a company is based in Scotland) 'pure air' not hot air. He's just come back from The Chelsea Flower Show - where the company that he's been labouring for has just won a GOLD award.
Mark Cummings - former BBC Radio Gloucestershire breakfast presenter. He's been a journalist, presenter, reporter, quiz master - now he's an author and travel writer. He launched his first book 'GLORIOUS GLOUCESTERSHIRE' which he has been rolling out at book fairs and festivals all over the county. But he's also just back from his first BIG travel gig in JAPAN - so we'll find out all about that and how's it all going. How do you make a living from doing this?
Glenn Collingbourne - Director at Hazlewoods, specialising in tax. The company has more than 500 staff split across four offices in Cheltenham, Staverton, Bristol and Cardiff with an approximate turnover of £45m.
Business leaders are selling up but why so many business owners moving to Dubai, Switzerland, France and Malta? When is the best time to move?
Ben Limbrick is the Founder and Managing Director of First Aid & Trauma Training Ltd (FAATT), a Gloucestershire-based company specializing in first aid, trauma, and health and safety training.
With a background as a former Royal Marine, Ben brings extensive practical experience to his training programs. He's an ex- Royal Marine - so we find out about his transition to civic life, how and why he started his business and his battles with Somalian pirates.
Another jam packed edition as always - in the mix today: Chagos deal, Gloucester Services, contact lenses let you see in the dark, John Marjoram obituary, chemical castration, US bonds sold off, Gloucester BID & Food Dock purple flag win and much much more...
