E143 Punchline Talks! with Rob Lister, Neill Ricketts, Vikki Walters and Sam Holliday

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Friday's national and regional newspapers and discuss what is happening in their own business sector and their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

The Business Breakfast Briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.

This week's panel of experts were:

Rob Lister - sales and marketing director for Lister Unified Communications, specialising in telecoms, mobile, connectivity and IT services. Lister achieved a 25% increase in sales of its IT services last year and we find out how they did it.

Neill Ricketts - graphene guru and chair of Forest of Dean Economic Partnership. We quiz him about his role as a Forest champion and the pros and cons of being a Forest business.

Vikki Walters - strategic lead for inclusive employment at Gloucestershire County Council, based at the city's Employment Hub. She's plugging the next employment forum - what, where, when, why and how you can get involved.

Sam Holliday - business development manager for the FSB for Gloucestershire and beyond. We find out from Sam the 'mood' of the business community - up or down and what's going on?

Today was jam packed as always. We started the show by picking out the front page headline of the Daily Star, and asking the panel "Would you fight for your country?" and "Would our young people turn up?".

Also covered - the Vodafone takeover, 25 years of The Gruffalo, the Post Office scandal, Lloyds Banks job cuts and 42,000 business start-ups. Cotswold Farm Park and British Airways get a mention, alongside a few other big knobs...
