Episode 129 Punchline Talks! with Andrew Roughan and Rob Lister

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Friday's national and regional newspapers and discuss what is happening in their own business sector and their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

The Business Breakfast Briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.

This week's panel of experts were:

Andrew Roughan - CEO of Plexal. Plexal is an innovation company based in London with 82 staff and a turnover of £17 million, which has recently taken a 51% stake in Hub8 - the organisation behind the new £8.2 million Minster Exchange (MX) in the heart of Cheltenham. We find out why and what it means for Cheltenham, how the business was started and Andrew's belief that Cheltenham's GCHQ is the route to its success. And an exclusive this morning that Cheltenham Borough Council agreed £95 million spend on the next phase of the Golden Valley Development.

Rob Lister - managing director of Lister Unified Communications. The Stonehouse-based company has 40 staff and a turnover of approximately £6 million. We find out about the launch of the latest iPhone 15 and the way it affects the business, plus the new model has had a few teething problems. Punchline and Listers have recently joined forces to launch a major mobile recycling campaign in aid of The Nelson Trust. Rob explains about the campaign, the family involvement with the Trust and what happens to the old mobiles.

Also covered today - independent schools proposed tax increase from a future Labour government, news of the new CEO of UCAS, the broken planning system and much, much more.
