E:96 Punchline Talks! With Clare Vertigen, Gary Patefield-Smith and Steve Gardner Collins

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Fridays national & regional newspapers, discuss what is happening in their own business sector and in their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

The Business Breakfast briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.

Taking their places on the business briefing panel this week were:

Clare Vertigen - managing director of South West Apprenticeship Company (SWAC) - the company is a Gloucestershire-based apprenticeship training agency supporting companies large and small with apprenticeships across all sectors. Clare has been MD for the past 14 years and has helped it become the leading provider of apprenticeships without the county.

Gary Patefield-Smith - managing director of Davidson Walsh, a Cheltenham based structural and engineering consultancy, the business has made substantial contribution to the local community, providing structural engineering support to over 2,500 projects throughout Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and beyond.

Steve Gardner-Collins - director Visit Gloucestershire and director of the Hatton Group of Hotels. Steve has become renowned as a leading voice and expert for tourism in Gloucestershire, having worked for many years in the hospitality industry he is the founding member and driving force behind Visit Gloucestershire having managed to secure the funding to help promote the county internally and to the wider world.

Thankfully Harry has been replaced as the nation's headline news by Satins - a far less bitter pill to swallow.

It is a lively informative chat with the panel working their way through the rest of national papers before getting behind the nitty gritty of their own businesses and marketplace. A full, packed show.

The panel fire through lots of subjects, with news and views and there is something to learn for everyone who is interested in business from the people who are at the sharp end of running their companies.

It is well worth the investment of time to listen to four top experts - in business you never stop learning.
