E151 Punchline Talks! with Jason Ivey, Will Abbott, Rupert Walters and Gillian Appleby

Each Friday, Punchline-Gloucester.com editor Mark Owen is joined by leading Gloucestershire business figures from a range of backgrounds to review Friday's national and regional newspapers and discuss what is happening in their own business sector and their own individual businesses.

Finally, they round off by picking the stories that have caught their eye in this week's Punchline-Gloucester.com.

The Business Breakfast Briefer show is sponsored by Hazlewoods Accountants and Business Advisors.

This week's panel of experts were:

Jason Ivey - MD - Gloucestershire Airport - is the new MD of Gloucestershire Airport. It is fair to say that over the past couple of years the airport has experienced a lot of turbulence - but now its back on track with new investment in its traffic control tower but it is also being sold off by current owners, Gloucester City Council and Cheltenham Borough Council.

We get the latest news from Jason how the sale is progressing and what is the biggest lesson he has learnt since taking it over.

Will Abbott - Partner - Randall & Payne - Will is a strategic accountant and business advisor well known for his series of business workshops he runs from their Shurdington HQ.

We find out from Will more about the different types of workshops he runs and the current economic outlook of the Gloucestershire business community.

Rupert Walters - MD - 4ourty2 Ltd - Russell wears many hats. He is the chair of Race and Equalities Commission, director of 4orty2 Ltd, a trustee of the Music Works and a director of Morroway House.

We find out: What is 4orty2? How did it start and more about his work and that of Morroway House.

Gillian Appleby - CEO - Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (GRASAC) - we find out more about the work this amazing charity does - dealing with over 900 cases per year, many of them children, where the funding comes from and their 40th anniversary party.

Today was jam packed as always. Also, in the mix today and just a snap shot of what was covered: retail sales, working from home, USA poaching British workers, the 50th anniversary of the barcode, why working 9-5 might not be good for you or is it? Sir Ed Davey's leader of the LIB DEMS visit to Gloucester and why it is so significant to the local elections.
