A positive year ahead for mortgages predicted – The Mortgage Brain

By Enzo Mora, CEO and founder of The Mortgage Brain

The ink hadn't even dried on my list of hopes for the new year, when the excellent news of several lenders dropping their mortgage interest rates again was announced - with some even breaking the sub-4% barrier.

January is always a busy month for mortgages when new buyers and movers have taken stock of their situations over the festive period. Yet 2024 is starting with a proper bang, as we're already helping our customers old and new to find deals we could only dream about last year.

According to a poll of leading economists in The Times, interest rates will be cut at least twice this year and house prices could rise by 5%. Inflation has already dropped dramatically from 10.1% at the start of 2023 to 3.8% in December. Predictions are that we'll be edging closer to the Bank of England's 2% target in the coming months, with cheaper mortgages becoming more certain.

This year, we're working with an increasing number of the UK's leading housebuilders to provide new build mortgages to their customers. This is a specialised field, where time is of the essence to qualify buyers to make sure they can buy the home they desire and exchange and complete.

Our fully trained and qualified advisers work with a range of lenders to find the best, most affordable deals and are the first to pass on new rates, such as Skipton re-supporting a 95% loan to value for new build flats.

The mortgage world never stays still, and I'm delighted to reveal The Mortgage Brain starts 2024 with a new look. We've invested in the latest technology to make searching for and finding the best mortgage even easier. Our clients can speak to one of our expert advisers quicker and find out about all the latest deals as they are launched on the market.

We're really looking forward to helping thousands of people to achieve their house buying dreams this year.
