Gloucestershire Business News

What would you do with a big win?

One in four Brits (24%) would invest in a business if they won a substantial amount of money, according to new research.

Remarkably, more than a third (36%) said they would carry on working following a big lottery win, and one in six (16%) would work for a charity if they hit the jackpot.

The property industry was the most popular area for investment, with 27% saying they would plough their winnings into bricks and mortar, according to the survey by online games site, Winkslots.

Banking and finance (19%), hospitality (18%), automotive (14%), tourism and leisure (14%) and information technology (6%) industries were also high on the list for investment.

The survey also revealed that the average Brit wouldn't quit their day job for less than £5.4 million.

Here at Punchline, we're surprised to see that so many people would choose to continue working despite their win.

But what would business people in Gloucestershire do? Would you keep on working? Invest in your own existing business, start a new business from scratch or invest in someone else's successful company? Or maybe you'd just take a really long holiday in the sun?
