Urgent help needed for bereaved children
By Sarah Wood | 20th June 2018
A Gloucester company is calling on local businesses and residents to give generously to help two children bereaved by a murder.
Laura Mortimer and her 11 year old daughter, Ella, were murdered in their home on 28th May.
Laura also had two younger children, who have lost their mother and sister.
Laura's sister and her husband have agreed to take on the upbringing of their nieces. Their lives have been turned upside down and with two young children of their own, they are now going to be responsible for four children.
The family live in a two bedroom house in Longlevens, which is not suitable for their new situation. The home will need to be extended and adapted to accommodate the two girls. Social services will not allow the children to move in until the house has extra bedrooms and living space.
Local company, Mitchell's of Gloucester, is calling on businesses to dig deep and give what they can to help this family return to some sort of normality.
If 100 companies can give £1,000 or 1,000 companies can give £100 or 10,000 people can give £10, they will easily raise the money they need.
