Tween favourite to close stores?

Claire's, the tween accessories chain, is thought to be considering closing some of its UK stores.

The Press Association (PA) said the retailer, which has stores in Cheltenham and Gloucester, was talking to restructuring firms about a number of options, as reported by the BBC.

Claire's has more than 370 stores in the UK.

According to PA, the company is considering following in the footsteps of many high street stores this year, with a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) where some stores are closed and rents are reduced on remaining stores.

But Claire's chief said it has no plans for either a CVA or major store closures in the foreseeable future.
