TV presenter opens new agritech centre

Five new agritech innovation workshops will be officially launched by TV presenter and rare breeds farmer Adam Henson.

The workshops at Harnhill Manor Farm, Cirencester are part of the Royal Agricultural University's Farm491.

It provides a space for innovators to grow their businesses by applying technology to growing environments.

Farm491 provides high-spec facilities including 491 hectares of farmland for research and testing.

The pioneering new initiative will create a vibrant incubation environment to assist over 55 new agritech companies and help them create over 200 new jobs over the next five years.

The official launch on June 30 will form part of the School Farms Network Education Alliance conference which is being hosted for its first year by the Royal Agricultural University.
