Traffic diverted as road improvements take place

A county road will close temporarily to allow essential resurfacing to take place.

Work is taking place at Two Hedges Road in Bishops Cleeve and the route will close from Thursday 22 November to Thursday 6 December (excluding weekends) between 9:30am and 3pm to allow the road to be open during peak times.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood, said: "We're laying a brand new surface on this popular route which forms part of our £150 million investment to improve Gloucestershire's roads.

"These works will have a major benefit to local residents as well as keeping an important route in Bishops Cleeve moving safely and efficiently. I would like to thank residents and road users for their patience while this vital work is carried out."

What's the diversion route? (suitable for HGV's)

From the western end of Two Hedges Road - follow Cheltenham Road south, take the first exit at the roundabout and continue south on the A435. Turn left onto Southam Lane and continue to Southam Village. At the junction with Old Road turn left, and then turn left again onto New Road. Follow this north to the eastern end of Two Hedges Road.

The diversion is the same in reverse except at the end of New Road, where southbound traffic should turn right to join the B4632, then right into Old Road and left onto Southam Lane.
