Tradespeople needed for Gloucester’s own DIY SOS for bereaved children
By Sarah Wood | 21st June 2018
Few people in Gloucestershire could have failed to be moved by the tragic deaths of Laura Mortimer and her daughter, Ella.
Now two Gloucester businessmen are calling on tradespeople in the area to donate time, expertise and materials to help Laura's younger daughters.
Laura's sister and her husband will bring up the two little girls, but their two-bedroom house isn't big enough to accommodate them and the family's own two children. Social services won't allow the children to move into the house until it has extra bedrooms and living accommodation.
Garrion Leeds of Mitchell's (Gloucester) and Ashely Howell of Howell & Vanstone have launched a Facebook page, where tradespeople can pledge help and materials to build an extension to the house and reunite the family as soon as possible.

This follows a call yesterday for businesses and residents to dig dip to raise funds for the desperately-needed project. Donations can be made through JustGiving https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/surviving-girls
