VIDEO: Tours of the King's Bastion

Gloucester City Council, working in partnership with King's Walk Gloucester and the Civic Trust, is re-opening the King's Walk Bastion for public tours beneath the floors of King's Walk again this summer.

The chamber contains the remains of part of the Roman city wall and a medieval defensive tower, probably constructed during the reign of Henry III.

This rare and unique opportunity is not to be missed!

Punchline toured the King's Bastion in April 2017, see the footage of the guided tour below.

The next tours are on the following dates:

- Tuesday 7th May

- Tuesday 11th June

- Tuesday 9th July

- Tuesday 13th August

Three tours run on each of the dates above at 11.00am, 11:45am and 12:30pm. Tours last approximately 40 minutes. After booking, you will be required to meet at King's Walk.

Tickets are £5 per person (under 14's are free). However, only 15 places are available each tour, so book as soon as possible.

Visit the Tourist Information website to book tickets.

Please note: Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. This tour is not really suitable for children under 12. Access to the chamber may be difficult for those with mobility problems.
