Top business speakers will inspire you at Growing Gloucestershire conference, June 20

The Fourth Industrial Revolution and shaping the county for 2050 will be major themes for the Growing Gloucestershire conference which takes place this Wednesday June 20.

An impressive line-up of keynote speakers will inspire, educate and entertain business leaders at the event at the Growth Hub at the University of Gloucestershire's Oxstalls campus in Gloucester.

Now in its 16th year, the event, organised by Gloucestershire Professionals and hosted by The Growth Hub, offers a fantastic chance for business people in the county to come together and network, while also listening to some inspiring talks.

The headline speakers include Will Kintish, the international expert on business networking skills; Peter Milligan, professional speaker and business psychologist; Adam Starkey, founder and chair of award-winning Green Gourmet and vice-chair of GFirst LEP and David Owen, chief executive of GFirst LEP.

Conference chairman, Jonathan Nicholls, said this year's event was promising to be the best ever.

"The event will offer insight into the future of business in Gloucestershire.

"The theme of the 2018 Conference is the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The concept of combining digital, biological and physical systems sounds quite futuristic, but it is coming. This event will discuss what it is, how it will affect businesses in the county, and most importantly, how to capitalise on the opportunities it will bring.

"This conference is about building awareness and equipping ourselves to thrive in a very different world. It will include a range of informative seminars and keynote speeches and provide opportunities for networking whilst learning."

Will Kintish said: "I provide confidence and expertise in the field of business development to people who find this area of their careers uncomfortable. I educate and entertain; a powerful mix to help people become great business developers and build their self-confidence."

As well as the keynote speakers, there will be a range of seminars running which will provide insight into specific sectors and their response to the changing business world. Topics will include:

• How to get sales naturally

• 21st century marketing - the impact of modern technology and the shape of things to come

• Protecting yourself (and your business) in a digital world

• Protecting your business' reputation in a 24-hour news environment

• Future proofing your business

The conference takes place on 20 June and runs from 8:15am - 3pm.
