The Range to create 50 jobs in Cheltenham

Value home, leisure and garden retailer The Range is set to open its new branch in Cheltenham in the autumn.

The new store will open on October 30 in the former Homebase store at Centrum Retail Park. It will replace the existing branch located just half a mile away on Tewkesbury Road.

The new The Range will provide a much larger retail space than the current store. Existing staff will move to the new store, which is also expected to create 50 new roles, boosting the Cheltenham economy during a difficult time for retail.

The new branch will have a complete range of Iceland frozen foods, a family café and an outdoor garden centre, along with arts and crafts, furniture, DIY and kitchen products. It will also open with a huge range of Christmas products, including trees, lights and decorations.

The existing store will close on Thursday 29th October, the day before the new one launches. In preparation for the move, it will be holding a big clearance sale.

Chris Dawson, The Range owner and founder, said: "We can't wait to bring our loyal Cheltenham customers a brand new store. We're only moving around the corner from our current site, but to a unit which offers much more space and the chance to expand our existing product selection.

"I'm sure the Iceland and family cafe opening in the new store will be a welcome addition to the current extensive offering we already have. We expect the job provision to be a great boost to the local area."
