Cineworld - with venues in Gloucester and Cheltenham - is riding a wave of renewed interest in cinema-going, boosted by a popular slate of new films like the latest James Bond movie.
Revenue at the chain's outlets has now gone above pre-Covid levels at 127% in the UK and Ireland.
Films credited with bringing back the audiences include Black Widow and the Bond latest No Time to Die.
Chief executive Mooky Greidinger said: "We are thrilled to see audiences returning in significant numbers.
"Our partnerships with the studios are as strong as ever and with the incredible movie slate to come, there are real grounds for optimism in our industry."
Other cinemas - still a feature of many towns in the Gloucestershire - are celebrating the lockdown audience's return too.
Punchline says it's great to see cinema coming back - who would have thought last year that anyone would go out to watch a film again? After a time when streaming came to the fore and latest films were released straight to the home screen, it's good to see the blockbuster is back!
