Teams still have time to enter Willans’ Big Biz Quiz 2018

The big question for those who fancy themselves as fonts of all things general knowledge is 'will they walk away winners of Willans' 'Big Biz Quiz' 2018?

One of the Cheltenham-headquartered law firm's most popular events with more than 200 expected to attend, the hotly contested quiz is due to take place at Manor by the Lake in May.

All proceeds will go to childhood bereavement charity county-headquartered UK-wide Winston's Wish, which provides support to children and their families after the death of a parent or sibling.

James Grigg, partner and head of the charity committee at Willans, said: "Our 'big biz quiz' is always an enjoyable night of networking and fundraising and one that many businesses tell us they look forward to each year.

"The support that Winston's Wish provides to children both locally and across the UK has touched the hearts of many of us. We're aiming to raise £3,000 from the quiz alone, so we're delighted to see that tables are filling up fast."

There will also be a charity auction and raffle on the night.

The champion team will be presented with a trophy, won last year by Hazlewoods LLP. Team entries from any Gloucestershire business are welcome, with regular attendees from sectors including property, accountancy, finance, technology and HR.

Willans has raised around £80,000 over the past five years which has been put toward all sorts of charitable projects throughout Gloucestershire.

This year, the firm's chosen charity is Winston's Wish, and the team of around 75 staff are busy planning and undertaking fundraising efforts ranging from baking competitions to marathons.

Malaney Varaljay-Boyce, head of regional fundraising and events at Winston's Wish, said: "At Winston's Wish, our vision is a society where every child can get the help they need when someone close to them dies, and it is because of the support of firms like Willans, that we are able to continue to reach more children and give them the hope they need to lead full and flourishing lives."

Tickets are available at £50 for a team of four, including a light food platter per team, through Eventbrite or by contacting the firm.

Willans LLP annual Big Biz Quiz is due to take place from 7pm on Tuesday May 15.
