A Stroud business that has been operating for more than 30 years is to close its doors on December 20.
The owners of DM Foundries Andy and Paul Morris announced that "after a lot of heartache" they were closing the Thrupp business down at the end of their 2019 financial year.
The firm have already stopped taking new orders and will work alongside existing customers to ensure that any issues are mimimised.
Based at Stafford Mill in Thrupp, DM Foundries employed 19 people according to their most recent annual return and specialised in casting metals in sand-based moulds.
The company was formed by the merger of Carter Castings and Alegrey in 1983 when the two directors combined their skills and knowledge to create DM Foundries.
In an announcement the directors explained the reasons for calling it a day, saying: "It is with great sadness and after a lot of heart ache that we have decided that after 45 years running DM Foundries the time has come for us to cease trading.
"We will officially close the Foundry on 20th December 2019 which is the end of our financial year.
The statement added: "We would like to thank you for your support and friendship over our years at DM Foundries.
"We have been blessed to have met and worked with some wonderful people along the way."
