A construction company which has worked on major projects in the county has reported a solid period of trading for the last year.
Speller Metcalfe had a slight increase in profit before tax to £554,000 for the year to March 2022. Turnover remained stable at £104.2 million.
James Speller, managing director of Speller Metcalfe, said: "This year's accounts highlight a solid year of turnover and profit for the business, which reflects our strategy of sustainability in what has been a year of significant cost increases for the industry.
"While this has created challenges, we have continued to invest in our services and our people, building upon a business culture that sets Speller Metcalfe apart as a leading regional contractor, and one that continues to attract some of the industry's best talent."
The Malvern-based company is working on the new £19.4 million Forest of Dean Community Hospital, set to replace the Dilke Memorial Hospital and Lydney Community Hospital. The hospital is due to open in the 2023-24 financial year.
Speller Metcalfe has previously worked on many projects within Gloucestershire, including Five Valleys Shopping Centre, Leckhampton C of E Primary School, Cinderford Medical Centre, Chamwell Centre, Westonbirt Arboretum Visitor Centre and Hartpury College.
