Solar panels puts energy company in frame for award

A Gloucestershire company has been shortlisted for the British Renewable Energy Awards.

Mypower, based in Toddington, near Cheltenham, is among eight contenders in the Project category after it successfully installed 150 solar panels to the roof of Gloucester Cathedral.

The category is for a company that has developed an outstanding building-integrated or stand-alone project.

Mypower's rivals for the prize are Anesco Limited, National Trust Wales, Qila Energy, British Solar Renewables, Bio Collectors, Wood Group Clean Energy and Wheelabrator Technologies Inc.

The winners of each category in the British Renewable Energy Awards will be announced at a ceremony at The Savoy in London on 15 June.
