A unique opportunity has arisen to acquire eight period properties in Broadway, for an undisclosed sum.
Cheltenham-based commercial property firm, KBW Chartered Surveyors, has bought to the market the portfolio on behalf of long-standing client and antique dealing business the HW Keil estate.
Mr HW Keil was born in 1900 and after qualifying as a cabinetmaker at the RSA in London, moved to Broadway to work for furniture design firm, Gordon Russell Ltd.
In 1932, during the Great Depression, Mr Keil established his own company, creating a firm of international fame, trading in fine English furniture and antiques from showrooms in London, Bristol, Cheltenham and Broadway's Eadburgha House (included in the sale).
HW Keil Ltd became one of England's greatest antique businesses and is said to be amongst the first to give the Cotswolds, and Broadway in particular, the reputation for quality antiques.
The collection of Cotswold Stone buildings for sale, all built circa 1659 - 1857, are separated into two clusters - five to the south of the High Street (the 'Broad Way' from which the village takes its name) and three to the north.
Mostly Grade II listed, the portfolio is being sold as a single lot and includes Old School House, Eadburgha House, Old School Cottage, Tudor Cottage, Tudor House, Broad Close, South View House and Yew Tree House.
The majority of the properties will be offered with vacant possession, with South View House and Tudor House subject to existing commercial tenancies.
Richard Knightley, senior director of KBW, said: "Very rarely does such a piece of prime real estate come to the market and we are delighted to be involved with such a prestigious portfolio sale.
"The Keil name is synonymous with Broadway's history and the proposed sale will undoubtedly shape the future of Broadway's High Street when a new owner takes the reins."
Interested parties are invited to contact KBW for more information about the portfolio and to submit offers.
